An idle discussion with family last night resulted in an interesting theory: At just a dollar for a 24 oz can and less than three dollars for a gallon jug, Arizona teas are, by volume, the cheapest name brand beverage on the market, including bottled water. Are we forgetting something? Or is Arizona Sweet Tea genuinely the best beverage deal out there?

I love Arizona, but I don't want to get me some diabeetus!

It's a lot of drink for not that much money, I'd say it's a pretty good value.

It's really good tea-flavored sugar water. Try the bottled Pina Colada if you can.
As for beer, Whole Foods has a $3 six pack. It's cheap beer, so don't expect anything good.

Soda frequently goes on sale for $1/2L bottle, and Coke has the 1.25L bottles for $1 regular price

I'm only factoring in regular prices, not sale prices. During sales the Arizona tea can be had for 50¢ per can. Also I've never seen Coke that cheap. Clearly I'm going to the wrong store

1 liter brisk is $1.00 all the time

I've heard their trick is putting the price right on the can, so retailers can't mark it up.
Also, I love how those gallon jugs are filled right up to the rim. It's like they care about the consumer or something!

at the local walmart, mountian dew is always 98 cents for a 1.5 liter bottle.

Tap water, with your own filter. Bring your own refillable bottle if you need something portable.
Seriously, I can't understand why people will spend so much money on sugary drinks that aren't alcohol. It's expensive and generally bad for you.
Plus, arizona tea tastes like shit. That's right. I said it.

I heard the same about the can and if it really is true then I love them. Also, having just cracked open one of those gallon jugs, I agree. Arizona knows how to do it right.

Your local supermarket should have it, Walmart, Walgreens, etc.

HAH, our local walmart has always has mountain dew 98 cents for 1.5 liters

Seeing as the last time I had alcohol was the podium champagne at Tall Pines 2013 I'm probably the wrong person to ask

1.25l is 42oz. That's like a large McDonalds size drink, so that's not TOO extreme.

I didn't even know Mountain Dew had a 1.5 liter bottle. Seems like a rather odd size.

Still, water man. Your body needs water, so drink that shit!

I want this to be a racing livery so bad. Velvety smooth yet full flavored, local, and $1.19 at every gas station.
Wait non alcoholic or..I drink way to much arizona, not just because you can buy a gallon of their "Stress" tea for like $3 so I switched to Peace tea, which is the same thing but .30 more. Snowberry is where its at.

CVS had a 2-for-$1 sale last week. I like having a can at work, so I bought eight.

walmarts the only place I've seen the 1.5 liter size
what was funny was the other day i was in walmart, and they had different sizes of mountain dew on one of their stands out in the middle of the aisles, and they had 20 oz bottles for like $1.59, and then right below it, they had the 1.5 liter bottles for $0.98, I bought the 1.5 liter bottle

I grew up only drinking water or 100% juice, no sugar added, because my mom refused to buy soda (ironically enough, she was a smoker at the time) and I never got hooked on it. I still drink only water so I'm with you most of the way there. Living in the midwest, I have no idea how people can be downing two-liters like they'll never see one again.
BUT OMFG HAVE YOU NOT HAD SWEET TEA WITH BOURBON OR VODKA AND/OR LEMONADE IT IS FANTASTIC GO TRY SOME

I regularly see 48 packs of bottled water, 500 ml each for $5. That's 1.2 cents an ounce.

Generally store brand 2L of soft drinks are the best value I've seen. Last I checked you could get bottles of Dr. Thunder for like sub-$0.80.
![]() 11/16/2014 at 21:19 |

That's why I made sure I specified name brand. We had some Valu Time orange soda last year that was just $1 for 3 liters. Having had it I can now tell you I wouldn't buy it again if they were giving me the dollar.
![]() 11/16/2014 at 21:21 |

Yeah some of them are decent (like aforementioned Dr. Thunder). Faygo in MI was also like $0.90/2L

At my place of work, a bottle of Coke is $1.69, and a bottle of Dasani water is $1.79. Dasani is owned by Coca-cola, which means that the coke is cheaper than the exact same water used to make it.

The ultimate best deal for a cheap drink is... tap water.

I'd rather drink the bourbon straight and put the vodka into a cocktail. I'm one of the weird people who likes alcohol for the alcohol.

My parents were the same way. I drink soda, but Im not hooked on it. I only drink it every once in while. not growing up with it has allowed me to be able to not crave it

This costs 2 bucks and makes 3 gallons of delicious grape flavored drink.
If you wanna get fancy, just add some Everclear and it will knock you straight back on your ass.

Powdered mixes violate the spirit of the discussion, and the one in your picture isn't name brand, which violates the word as well ;) Also Dukey beat you to it.

Birch beer wasn't bad. Somewhat Dr Pepper-like.
Root beer is just...bleugh, I'm old enough, skip this and get me a Warsteiner.
